MATTHEW 6:9 “…our Father in Heaven….” (NLT)
Being a father is a great joy and the very thought that a tiny innocent life depends on you as a father brings a great responsibility. One of the greatest joy in my life happened to me when I became a father, my two little sons bring so much pleasure to my heart. The father-son relationship I have with my sons remind me of the relationship we have with our Heavenly Father.
My sons are always at the door to greet me with their smiles when I get back home from work, it brings such joy to my heart. Reminds me of how much joy we as children bring to the heart of our Heavenly Father. It brings great joy to me when my sons ask me in their baby language ‘papa, buy i-keem (ice-cream)’, ‘papa, I need choco (chocolate), ‘papa, buy kindhadoee (kinderjoy)’, and it brings me even greater joy to see their smile when I get them what they need. It reminds me that our Heavenly Father finds joys when we ask Him what we need and He rejoices in giving us and seeing us happy.
We as fathers and mothers, in words or in thoughts promise our kids that we will always love them, protect them, provide for them and will always be there for them as long as we live. But, the greatest joy of having God as the Heavenly Father is to know that even though we may fail our kids, our Heavenly Father will never fail them. Even though our promises may fail, our Heavenly Father’s promises will never fail. Even though we may hurt our kids, our Heavenly Father will never hurt them. Even though we may not be around always, our Heavenly Father will always be there for them.
