Read: John 10
In many homes, we see wallboards bearing the inscription that “Jesus is the head of this home.” But in reality, it might be something else. Jesus is nowhere to be present in the home because it is a home where there is no prayer and fellowship with God. If we spend more time in prayer, we invite Jesus into our life and bear His character.
Jesus said, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me” (Rev. 3:20). He is expecting someone to hear His voice and open the door, so that He can dine with them. Jesus is knocking at the door of our heart. He wants us to listen to His voice. Only His sheep can hear His voice. He wants to come and have fellowship with His creation. The Bible says, “He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name” (John 1:10-12).
If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, He is standing outside and waiting for you to make that decision. We need to have a personal relationship with Jesus. He does not force His way in, or arrive in order to condemn us; rather, Jesus knocks on the door of our heart that we may hear His voice, receive Him into our life and become His children.
