Read: John 6:30-40
During His ministry, Jesus always invited people to come to Him, and He still does today. John 6:35 says, “Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”” What do He and His Father in heaven have that we need?
Salvation – Jesus is the only way to have forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life. John 3:15 says, “whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Purpose – We should give all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength to following Jesus. Mark 8:34 says, “…Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
Comfort – God alone can comfort us despite any situation that we face. 2 Cor. 1:3-4 says, “…God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
Wisdom – We need godly wisdom for making decisions. Mere human knowledge won’t suffice for many occasions in life. James 1:5 says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Strength – When we are weary and tired, God will give us strength. Ps. 29:11 says, “The Lord will give strength to His people…”
Abundant life – True and fullest life is found in a relationship with Jesus. He alone gives meaning to life. John 10:10 says, “…I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Jesus lovingly says, “…the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out” (John 6:37). Can you come to Jesus today? Can you draw closer to Him, so that your life will be meaningful to you and others?
