Read: Psalm 146:1-10
Looking down at a smartphone with your head bent forward is equivalent to having a 28-kilogram weight on your neck. When we consider the fact that millions of people around the world spend an average of 2-4 hours daily using their smartphone to read and text, the resulting damage to the neck and spine becomes a serious health concern.
It is the same in our spiritual walk. Many a time, we may be discouraged by the problems we face and the demands of those we love. The psalmist said, “Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever, who executes justice for the oppressed, who gives food to the hungry. The Lord gives freedom to the prisoners. The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; the Lord raises those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous” (Ps. 146:5-8).
Trust in God, not in man, because only those who trust God can be truly blessed. God’s care for us is so abundant. We can always look up to Him and praise Him when situations try to make us bow down. He will always lift us up when we are bowed down.
