GALATIANS 4:6-7 “Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.” (NIV)
The above verse points out an important aspect of our relationship with God which most Christians today choose to down play or ignore. There has been an over emphasis on being a slave to God, Christ and the Gospel whereas very little talk about a Christian’s sonship and inheritance from God our Father. The verse here clearly points out our relationship with God is that of a son to his father or a child to his/her father.
The enemy doesn’t want you to believe that you are a child of God, because once you really believe that you are a child of God, you begin to live life as “an heir of God through Christ”. As a child and an heir of God, you inherit all the blessings of God which Jesus died to give you, including salvation, healing, provision, wholeness, favor, intimacy with God and much more.
Romans 8:17 says that we are co-heirs with Christ and share in His inheritance. When we are an heir of God we really don’t have to be bothered about lack, our Father owns everything, every precious metal and diamonds belong to our Father and our Father will take care of every need in our life and provide for us in abundance.
