EXODUS 4:2 Then the Lord asked him, “What is that in your hand?” “A shepherd’s staff,” Moses replied. (NLT)
Another experience that propelled the ordinary Moses into becoming an extraordinary great leader whom we know today is the experience of “using what was in his hand”. When God met Moses at the burning bush, He asked Moses, “What is in your hand?” Moses replied that it was his staff, later we see that it was with this staff that God did a lot of miracles and wonders, the staff turned into a snake which also devoured the other snakes of the Egyptian magicians, Moses raised the staff while the Red Sea parted, it was the staff with which Moses hit the rock and water came gushing out of the rock. God used what was in Moses’ hand to do miracles and wonders.
Most of the time we pray and ask God to give us a weapon to fight the battles of life. We feel we have no gifts and talents, but we fail to see what God has already endowed us with. Our God is not a god who is going to forge something from heaven and hand it down to us so that we can use it, but God will use that what he has already given. There is nobody on this earth who has not been endowed by talents and capabilities, all what we need to do is to see what is in our hands, it is to find out what God has already given us for that will be the tool with which God is going to do great deeds in our lives.
So, today I would like to encourage you, if you feel so helpless, if you feel that you have nothing, let me remind you to look to yourself and see what God has already given into your hands for it is with that that He is going to take you to heights.
