1 SAMUEL 17:45-47 “Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you and take your head from you. And this day I will give the carcasses of the camp of the Philistines to the birds of the air and the wild beasts of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.” (NKJV)
Many times when we face huge problems we just want to ignore it and are unwilling to address it because we think we can’t deal with the problem. Ignoring the problem is not going to solve it but rather make it even bigger. Moreover, we need to have the faith that God is with us and He will fight on our behalf. When Israel was faced with the giant problem of Goliath all the soldiers and even king Saul chose not to face the problem but David behaved differently, He faced the giant. When David heard the threats of Goliath, he asked , ‘who does this Philistine think he is anyway that he would defy the armies of God?’ David wasn’t going to hear any of it. He wasn’t going to let this giant insult God and God’s people. He wasn’t going to live in fear, he was going to defeat the giant. He was going to face the problem head on, and deal with it right away, not on his own strength but by God’s strength.
The enemy wants us to live in fear of the giants in our life. He wants us to think our problem is so big that it is impossible even for God to overcome. But, we need to always remember that nothing is impossible with God. No problem is bigger than our God and if we rely on God no problem can stand up against us. We are called to live victorious lives; Christ has already got us the victory. Remember God will win the battle for ours but we need the faith to face the battle and to know that God will fight for us.
