ROMANS 4:3-5 “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness” (NKJV)
Sometimes we are lead to think that our righteousness are a result of our efforts and good deeds, we think the more good we do or the more Godly we are the more righteous we become. The Bible clearly tells us that God doesn’t measure righteousness in the manner the world does. True Godly righteousness is not born out of our efforts or deeds; true righteousness is what God gives us freely through grace when we believe in His Son Jesus Christ.
Don’t try to earn righteousness through your efforts or performance. Freely receive the righteousness that God freely gives to you through faith in Christ Jesus and His finished work on the cross. All what we need to do is to believe and have absolute faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. When you depend on your righteousness the devil gets the chance to remind you of your failures and taunt saying, “You don’t deserve God’s blessings and His love because you are not good enough”. Don’t believe in that lie! Your efforts will never be good enough but what Jesus did for you on the cross and the righteousness He gave us is good enough.
