John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
Sometimes there are times of unrest in our lives. We may try to ponder and figure out a solution and may not have peace with the decision made. Before beginning our daily activities, before starting our day, do we bow down before our Maker, seeking His face? Jesus has promised us to give us peace unlike what the world has promised. Earthly provisions will not give us peace or security in this life. Even when the world is in chaos around us, we have “the Prince of peace” who fights our battles for us. Satan tries to create doubt in decisions that we make. God gives us the everlasting peace if we have done what was according to His will.
When Jesus was preparing to depart from this world, He told His disciples, “Peace I leave with you; my Peace I give unto you not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled nor let it be fearful” (John 14:27). If Jesus is really our Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6), then we have submitted wilfully to live the way He wants us to. The true attitude of a Christian is to have the peace of Christ rule his heart always knowing that God is in control of any chaotic situation. To be genuine Christians, we should have peace with our neighbours, fellow Christians, coworkers and relatives, as Jesus commands us to be at peace with one another (Mark 9:50).
