John 1:12 – “As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”
God is good to all mankind. Matt. 5:45 says, “… He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Furthermore, John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son …” This depicts the common grace of God. But those who receive Christ as Lord and Saviour are given the right to become children of God. This makes them the objects of His special grace. We who have been born into His family through faith in His Son enjoy a unique relationship with Him.
The heavenly Father shows His special favour and grace for His children in many ways. He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). He guides us (Psalm 48:14). He provides all our needs (Matt. 6:8). He gives good things to His children (Matt. 7:11). He is always there to listen to us (Heb. 4:16). He knows even the minutest details of our lives (Matt. 10:30). And the best thing is that He loves us. 1 John 3:1 says, “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God!” As our heavenly Father, He rightfully deserves all our praise and honour. And we can trust Him completely.
Are you hurting, lonely, in need, confused, or discouraged and do not know what to do? Then call upon your heavenly Father. He loves you, cares for you, and He wants you to cast all your cares upon Him.
