Psalm 27:14 – “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!”
You might be a person who waited and tried many things, yet didn’t hope to get the result that you expected. Maybe you have crossed a certain age and are still without a family or a job. The whole world must be moving around you and you are waiting for something remarkable to happen in your life. When you look at other’s Facebook page, you feel sad and envy that nothing is happening in your life and you just want to cave in and worry that nothing is happening in your life. Do not worry about anything. In prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving, make your requests known unto God. God gives us the peace, when we go through different trials in our life.
Job’s life stood still when his children died, his earthly possessions (cattle) perished, when he suffered physical ailments, when his wife told him to deny God and when his friends started accusing him. He praised God through his difficulties. Later we see that God multiplied Job’s cattle and blessed him with children again. Also, David’s life stood still, although he was anointed to be the next king of Israel, defeated Goliath, and married King Saul’s daughter. He had to run from Saul constantly and became a king only after 16 years. Through his hardships, David learned to trust in God and wait upon Him. David says in Psalm 27:14 – “Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!”
When you are going through a standstill position in your life, remember to “cast all your burdens upon Jesus for He cares for you” (1 Pet. 5:7). Be patient and willing to wait for God’s perfect timing. The Bible says, “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isa. 40:31). God will fill your empty pages and make you a useful vessel for His glory.
