Malachi 3:6 – “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore, ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”
Our God is an everlasting God. He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8). “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever You had formed the earth and the world, You are the everlasting God” (Ps. 90:2). We might change, but He remains the same always. His promises are always kept. Though the Israelites sinned, God kept His promise to Abraham, of not consuming their population completely. The Israelites disobeyed God’s laws and commandments, yet God preserved His people. Therefore, God says in Mal. 3:6, “For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore, ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.” People may change with time, but God never changes. “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lam. 3:23).
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change (James 1:17). Whatever His attributes are of old, they are still the same now. His power, His wisdom, His truth, His Words and His justice are all unchanged. He has always loved His people with an everlasting love (Jer. 31:3). Our God is never partial to anyone (Rom. 2:11). He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous (Matt. 5:45).
God is always the anchor of our ship. Even when we go through rocky seas, He is stable. We can hold fast to Him at all times. And we can always hold on to His unchanging Word. Precious is the assurance that God never changes!!!!!!!
