EXODUS 3:10-11 “Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.” But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” (NLT)
Excuses – excuses seem like an inseparable aspect of human nature and character. Human beings excel in making excuses, it began in the Garden of Eden when Adam made an excuse blaming Eve, Eve in turn made an excuse blaming the serpent each for their own disobedient actions.
Moses too when faced with his fear of failure started giving excuses protesting against the task God wanted to entrust him. But God wouldn’t buy any of his excuses because our God doesn’t like excuses.
Today we might be facing a task God wants us to take up but in our reluctance we might be making excuses to avoid accepting the task. But let me remind us that when God brings us a task, that task is a surety, it is something that is bound to succeed. So, let us focus on the sure task of God and not on excuses which hinders our success.
