EXODUS 3:10-12 “Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.” But Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt? God answered, “I will be with you.” (NLT)
There were three excuses that Moses made to God wanting to turn down the task God brought him. The first of those excuses were “Who am I?” Moses must have argued, “Who am I to lead them out of slavery? I am just a murderer, a fugitive and for the past 40 years I am just a shepherd in the wilderness. I don’t have what it takes to be a leader.”
Many times we too go through the same kind of thoughts like Moses’, we feel ourselves to be too little and too incapable to accomplish the tasks in front of us. If we go through similar thoughts let me remind us today that that the success of our undertakings, projects, jobs, business, relationships, even the success of our lives doesn’t just depend on who we are, but on who God is. So, let us stop focussing on “who I am” and start focussing on “who He is”.
