9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
14 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
15 But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
It’s Lord’s Prayer
“Why do I forgive to someone while I have all the reason to keep hatred?” is a relevant question when we discuss about the forgiveness. we can answer it in various way, but on the biblical analysis there are 3 reasons to forgive. First of all its Lord’s command, second our survival depends on it and finally it’s needed to take our life further to the future.
It should be sincere when we forgive. It’s not to show off or to pretend but should be from the bottom of our hearts. God wants to bless our life with His grace and mercy. To get into that blessed life one should have the attitude of forgiveness.
Forgiveness is the total message of Christianity and it’s is the total story of the incarnation of Christ. We owe a debt we couldn’t pay and Jesus paid a debt that he didn’t owe. In return what we can show as the gratitude is to forgive others. It’s our daily prayer, ‘God give us the courage to forgive others and give us your Grace and Mercy to understand others.
