Proverbs 11:25 – “Whoever brings a blessing will be enriched, one who waters will himself be watered.”
God blesses us abundantly so that we can be a blessing to others. God has blessed each of us with great talents that can be used to bless others. You can be a blessing to someone who needs a listening ear, be an encourager by motivating them, sharing, offering charity, praying, etc. If you are an older woman, you can be a blessing to younger women by encouraging them to love their husbands and children (Titus 2:4). You can be a blessing by opening your home to students who are staying far away from their families. Small acts of kindness make people feel blessed.
Martha and Mary opened their home to Jesus and His disciples (Luke 10:38-39). Jesus loved them very much. Deborah, the female judge was a blessing to the Israelites and Barak as she accompanied them for war. She instilled confidence in Barak to go for war against the Canaanites (Judg. 4). The wealthy Shunammite woman opened her house to Elisha and his servant. She was so thoughtful to provide him a roofed room with a bed, chair, table and lamp, and food every time he passed. Though she was childless, God blessed her with a son for being a blessing to Elisha the prophet (2 Kings 4:8-17). “He who has a generous eye will be blessed,
for he gives of his bread to the poor” (Prov. 22:9).
Tabitha was always doing good and helping the poor (Acts 9:36). She made robes and dresses for widows (Acts 9:39). “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” (Gal. 6:2). Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality (Rom. 12:13). You can be a blessing to missionaries and pastors who are spreading the gospel in different parts of the world. If you are not able to help financially, pray for all the people, ask God to bless them; intercede on their behalf and give thanks for them (1 Tim. 2:1).
Jesus came into our life as a blessing. His salvation is a blessing to us. Sharing the love of Christ and preaching the gospel to those who have not heard about Jesus is a way of blessing them. Jesus Christ came to this earth not to be served, but to serve others and to give His life as a ransom for many (Matt. 20:28). Are you also willing to serve others and share the gospel to others as Jesus did?
